Sunday 19th October, we must stay in Kaimana for the day. The leaders of the expedition, Laurent, Dr Kadar and Dr Gono have an appointment with the regional prefect (BUPATI) tomorrow morning.

On board the Airaha 2, everyone goes back to their favourite activities until they can disembark. Card games and dominoes have been taken out. Everybody is chatting. Today we have had a good catch, fish for lunch!

Those who took the ferry arrived in Kaimana on Friday evening. They are staying in a boarding house in town. The most curious have begun their investigations of the local fauna and flora.

In the evening, everybody meets up on land to enjoy grilled fish in the harbour. The team is now complete. Those who arrived on the Airaha 2 or the dhow and those who came on the ferry can finally get to know one another.
